Labor Support & Childbirth Education

Looking back...

"Lindsey, It was a wonderful experience having you by my side when we welcomed our son into the world. I consider my husband and I to be reserved individuals where the thought of inviting a stranger to share this private moment would have never crossed our minds. But when we met you we knew you would be a wonderful addition to our experience when we were to become first time parents. I never thought my un-medicated birth goal would require me going through 60 plus hours of labor! But you were an encouraging throughout the entire process and a great support to my husband in the hospital setting. You are a sweet and kindhearted individual, but also firm enough to help be an advocate to nurses and doctors. Walking into a NYC hospital almost two weeks past my due date I knew the odds were against me. But with you and my husband by my side, I was sheltered from any discouraging words by the hospital staff. You took the time to help the nurses see the goal I was trying to reach and get them to be more of a team player. For the 24 hours you were by my side in the hospital you were a pleasure to be around and never did it ever cross my mind that you were a “stranger”. My first experience into motherhood was wonderful and I can say without a doubt that it was because you were a part of it. Thank you for being a wonderful doula and for being “you”. Love, Linda "

"Lindsey was with us for the birth of our first baby.  The attention and support she gave us during the labor was wonderful.  Her involvement ranged from making sure I had the simplest comforts to being a pillar to lean on in the most literal form.  Her suggestions for different ways to manage the pain plus the massages really helped me through some very difficult parts.  My husband and I felt very prepared for the big day but in the heat of the moment we really needed someone there to guide us.  She took the pictures of our first moments together as a family and they are priceless.  Having her there definitely added to the experience."

"All throughout a long labor, Lindsey provided reassurance and suggestions that we found very helpful.  It was very difficult to see my wife in pain and having her there helped me regroup when I needed to.  In the wee hours of the morning, after an exhausting and exhilarating day, having her there to keep an eye on my wife while I took a few moments for phone calls and a cup of coffee was nice.  I really couldn't imagine the experience without her."

“Dear Lindsey, I just wanted to give you a big THANK YOU for all of your support during the birth of our son Jack. Karolina and I both agree that without you, we would not have been able to have the natural birth that we wanted. You had such a compassionate and tender way which really comforted us in a stressful time. Seeing as you went through a natural birth yourself, Karolina was able to have a womanly connection with you in which she might not have had if it were just myself as the lone birth coach. I am grateful that you were there to suggest different positions and techniques that helped to make my wife more comfortable during her strenuous labor.
Before we started out on this journey, I didn’t even know what a "doula" was. Now that I am educated on the subject, I am grateful that we had you as our doula. I felt at ease after first meeting you and supported when you joined our birth team. I would highly recommend you without reservation to anyone who is looking for a knowledgeable, attentive and compassionate birth doula.
Sincerely,
Mike D'Amico, Staten Island”
